Trondheim is so fortunate to have the woods and hills of Bymarka nearby. All you have to do is take the tram to Lian (there’s only one tram line) where you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the outdoor life. There are some beautiful walks around the small lakes or along paths and trails in the woods. From the hillside by Lian there's a great view of Trondheim and its surroundings. If the snow has settled there are prepared ski trails for cross country skiing. When it gets dark there is kilometre upon kilometre of floodlit ski trails in Bymarka.
